DANDI DALEY MACKALL - The Inside Scoop

Hi, Everybody!

By the time you see this, it will be November, with Thanksgiving just around the corner...and Christmas soon after. Sorry if I'm getting ahead of myself, but I couldn't wait to send you the cover of my new Christmas picture book, TINY BABY JESUS, illustrated by Julia Noonan, published by Zondervan, and released October 1.

What's different about this Christmas book (and I know...I've written many of them) is that it celebrates the Gift of Jesus from head to tiny toes-the hands that grew into hands of a carpenter; swaddled shoulders that would later carry the weight of the world.

Tiny feet of Jesus,
Kicking up a storm--
Angels circling round his bed keep him safe and warm.

Now those feet are bigger, walking on the sea
Leaving us his footsteps, saying, "Come and follow me!"

Meanwhile, I continue to try to get that mythical "buzz" going for MY BOYFRIENDS' DOGS, a young adult novel coming out Feb. 4, 2010, with Dutton/Penguin (my publisher for Crazy in Love and Larger-Than-Life Lara). The tag line is:

3 Guys 3 Dogs 3 Love Stories ...And 1 Girl

If only guys could be more like dogs...

I'm pretty excited about a new series of early readers, too: THAT'S NAT, or NATALIE. Nat is so much fun-full of spunk and sincerity, mixed with heart and soul. So far, these are the titles that have been released this year:
